Surface Traction Forces Answered

I was also wondering when applying a time dependent surface traction force, as a time dependent function of a sin wave, how do I determine the maximum force applied to the body? I was thinking it was the amplitude of the wave multiplied by "scalex" in the "bc subcommand", so in my case if the amplitude of the sin wave is 10, and the code is written as:

bc forc functimefunc_1 100.0 0.0 0.0 * * *

the maximum force would be 1000N?

I was wondering if you could clarify. Thanks

    Hi Galem,

That is correct, 'scalex' is the scale factor in the x direction. This is multiplied by the time history values defined by functimefunc_1 giving a maximum magnitude of force as 1000 N.
