Pillow Box Bearing tutorial scale factor issue Answered

Hello,

I'm new in onscale and trying to go through the first pillow box tutorial.

The first issue I can't solve is the import geometry scale factor: the tutorial describes to set 0.001 scale factor while importing STEP file of the pillow box. Actually I'm unable to do it. The point symbol unable to be input there (no type neither Ctrl+C Ctrl+V). Only comma symbol can be input such "0,001". What the typo in the first tutorial for nubs?

And finally the imported geometry has wrong dimensions I'm using scale "0,001" either "1". And it is the same about "200000" while in the tutorial should be "200" only.

Sorry for dump question. What I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

    Hi there,

It sounds like you have an older version of OnScale. You can check this by going to the About section in the Help tab. The most up to date version is 1.28.10. You can download this from the Portal.

    Bets Regards,

    Chloe.

  • Hi there,

I have have tested this on 1.28.10.0 and it works for me. It takes a few seconds to load in the CAD but it works. Could you please walk me through the steps you are taking.

  • Hi Michael,

This may be caused by the language settings on your device, if the language is set to French I think it changes a decimal point to a comma. For this example you should be able to enter 1e-3 instead.

    Best Regards,

    Chloe
