want to calculate the effect of dielectric loss Answered
I want to calculate the effect of dielectric loss. For the deposition of AlN layer, the material quality, particularly the dielectric loss factor may vary. What is the dielectric loss currently you have while simulating AlN FBAR.

Hi there.
The default AlN material in our database is set up for EpsX = 8 Eps Y = 8 and EpsZ = 9.5. You can see this information in the project materials database.
EpsX/Y/Z is the the dielectric constant in the local x/y/z'-direction of the material.
You can edit these values in the project materials database. Or you can run a parametric sweep by saving the material in a *.prjmat file and changing these variables to symbx so you can sweep them on the cloud.

I would like thanks for you response dear Chloe.
Can you please guide me

how do i calculate for the rest of them ?
Hi there,
thanks for your question. At the moment, we do not explicitly include dielectric losses in the simulation. You can approximate these by extracting the electric fields and calculating a tan_delta*sum(E^2) measure at each frequency of interest that will well approximate these losses.
