PZT disc in receiver mode Answered
Hello,
I am trying to simulate PZT disc in "receiver" mode. The idea is to put load type "Pressure" somewhere at top of a disc, and then observe the output: time history of charge/voltage at top and bottom electrode of PZT disc. Also, I would like to calculate Impedance and receive sensitivity (OVC) graphs. Is this even possible?
I tried doing this by setting this options for the top electrode of PZT disc (Load Type = Voltage; Termination = Open) and bottom electrode (Load Type = Voltage; Termination = Ground). The problem is the impedance results zero and I'm not sure how to calculate OVC.
Do you have any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Marin,
Welcome to the forum!
Yes this is possible. You can apply a pressure load using the plod command (see command reference) and have the top electrode as open.
You can then use the following review script to pull out impedance and OVC. You also need to set up an extrapolation boundary (see extr in command reference) - https://onscaleus.sharepoint.com/:u:/s/External/EUX2FUU44jpJjUvhWdD5gnIBm5meWwGwHhABhUjM2AzH6w?e=7nYNav. In this script enter your filename and the frequency range you are interested in.
I hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Chloe
