Core count error Answered

Hello,

I am using the 10 free core hours for now to test my simulations but when I use the batch controller it says that there is a certain limit to the core count and i tried changing it in the CH under the account but it does not work for me, what do i do?

    Hi there,

Free accounts have certain limitations to the number of cores available. Could you please attach the error message you are receiving so we can check this is correct.

  • Hi,

This is correct. Free and Team accounts are limited to 64 cores. Enterprize accounts have access to 2000 cores. For info on the different plans see here.

  • Hello,

Thanks! I was confused of how they are different from Core hours since the core hours needed are below one but core count gives an error? Would $8/hr give me more capacity and how much would I need then?

  • If you have a free package then you have access to 64 'cores' (Core Processing Units). A free account has 10 core-hours to spend which means you can use 1 CPU for 10 hours or 2 CPUs for 5 hours etc. Core-hours are a measurement of computational time. If you are running a large batch that requires 178 cores, this will not work due to the limitations on a Free account. What you can do is split the large batch up into smaller batches so you are only using 64 cores at a time.

    Does this make sense?
