excite pure shear wave Answered

hey，

I can load pure longitudinal waves on an inclined plane with instructions as 'sdf2'. But a pure shear wave can not be obtained when only changing the vector direction to excite the shear wave in the same way. Longitudinal waves are always excited when shear waves are excited. How to load pure Shear Wave on Inclined Plane with instructions in Analyst?

    Hi there,

     

    You can set the vector to be parallel to the plane surface in the vctr command. However, the wave will not be perfect because it is on a stair stepped surface. You can increase the mesh if this is the case.

    And how to only increase the mesh at the inclined plane？Can the pure S-wave be generated by setting the P-wave velocity of material to 0？
