Cad with no gcon elemts Answered
Hi,
I've been trying to use the cad function to import a surface model I made in Fusion 360 using gcon. I've tried exporting and loading it in as a step, stp, iges, and sat file, but I keep getting the same error message: cad with no gcon elements. I've been modifying a script I got here: https://support.onscale.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004587358?_ga=2.132329865.621143449.1598812425-510573242.1593561427
Any tips?
Thanks,
Chinmay

Hi Chinmay,
For some reason the .flxinp has disappeared. Could you reupload this please?
Best Regards,
Chloe
Hi,
Could you share the step file with us via google drive or similar?

Oliver
Here it is: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QCnO4Ltel4f9qYFT5gFtQo9wix9qh77P/view?usp=sharing
Hey,
I've requested access I'll have a look at the files once you have accepted my request.
Thanks,
Oliver
Hi,
You should be able to access it now (oops). I should also mention that the one I sent was created in Onshape, not Fusion 360 and it gives the same error. It feels like it has something to do with the fact that I'm exporting just a 2d surface, because it's able to load a 3d step file.

Also sorry to be a pain. Could you drop the OnScale files you are working with into that drive directory. Just put all of them on .flxinp, flxprt.
Don't forget any material files etc. I need to determine if there is a problem with our solvers/CAD kernel or if this is a user error.
Thanks,
Oliver

Ok, this one should have all 3 files. The test material is defined in the .flxinp.
Thanks,
Chinmay
Hey Chinmay,
The orientation of the CAD was issue. You created a 2D surface drew on the x and z axis I rotated the CAD using OnShape.
I uploaded a working example to the drive you shared above.
Best regards,
Oliver
Ah, that worked. Thanks so much!!
