How to generate only shear waves in Analyst Answered

HEY

Does anybody know how to only generate   shear wave directly in steel  in Analyst , not by transformation of the form of wave? Is

 there other way to that? Both longitude wave and shear wave is generated when the direction of load is parallel with the interface between two material regions of the model，but I just need the shear wave.

And, how to only extract the reflect shear wave  ？or how to only calculate the pressure of shear wave？

    Hi there,

     

    We typically use the  ‘curl’ data array to visualize the shear wave. It outputs the curl of the displacement field.

    This approach is not specific to OnScale, but is general in finite element. We are solving for acoustic forces and velocities in the time domain. The user is free to use these fields to calculate a huge range of properties from this (displacement, pressure, stress, strain etc).
