Conditions on contact surfaces
Hi,
I am new on OnScale, just did the tutorial "PZT Disc in Water Load" .
In other FEM programs, one does a mesh for each body independently, and then imposes appropriate boundary conditions between the contact surfaces.
On OnScale, the mesh is generated automatically for all bodies.
What conditions are imposed by the solver at the boundaries ? For example, in the "PZT Disc in Water Load" tutorial, what are the condition between PZT and water ?
What happens at the boundary in the case of two solids in contact ?
Thanks,
Kostas

Hi Kostas,
Materials in contact are assumed to be in perfect contact for liquids and perfectly bonded for solids.
Look at the boun node command it will allow you to assign alternative conditions to certain areas of the model.
Best regards,
Oliver
Hi Oliver,
So the solver treats it as if it where one material with material properties changing at the interface ?
Thanks,
Kostas
Yes that's right
