Area Scaling for 2D Axi-symmetric Model 回答済み

Hi,

I am a new user and I was reading your tutorials to simulate a piezo disc in water using a 2D axisymmetric model.

I am not sure which value has to be given for the area scaling when defining the electrodes. In the tutorial PZT disc in water load (PZT Disc in Water Load – OnScale), a value of 6,28 is entered, but in the documentation on how to apply symmetry (How to apply symmetry – OnScale) you say no area scaling is required for a 2D axi-symmetric model.

What area scaling value should I give for the definition of my electrodes?

Thanks!

    Hi Nicolas,

The information in 'How to apply symmetry' may be slightly misleading, none required really means this is calculated by default. Axisymmetry calculates 1 radian sector of the model so the area scaling should be the angle of revolution in radians. In the pzt example the model is revolved a full 360 degrees which is 2pi radians which is ~6.28 radians. If you were to leave the area scaling blank in the pzt example this number would be calculated automatically.

I hope this clears things up for you.

    Best Regards,

    Chloe
