Damping in Material Property 回答済み
I have some questions about Damping in Material Property.
- What does Damping Units dB/MHz/cm mean? Mark «/» is it a division? Why dB/MHz/cm and not dB/cm? Why MHz and not Hz?
- What are the units of Bulk Attenuation and Shear Attenuation? dB/cm or not?
- At what frequency is Bulk Attenuation and Shear Attenuation set?
- What is Loss Frequency? What Loss Frequency value should I set?

Hi there,
To answer your questions:
1.The units are decibels per centimetre at damping frequencies in MHz, the MHz is just letting the user know that the damping frequencies must be specified in this way. This is just a design choice of the UI, a lot of the application areas OnScale deal with has frequencies in the MHz range.
2. Bulk attenuation and shear attenuation is the damping for the bulk and shear waves at the loss frequency and this should be given in dB/cm.
3. See Number 2.
4. Loss frequency is the frequency at which the values for bulk and shear damping are specified.
I hope this helps!
Best Regards,
Chloe
