made a 2D simulation from a 3D drawing 回答済み

I'm building my first digital simulation with OnScale. My geometry is built and I'm defining the mesh.
My first question is: I'm starting of a 3D drawing and I want to do a 2D simulation. How do I define the plan of this simulation?
The next step is the definition of the load. How do you do it?

    Hi Didier,

Yes you can convert the 3D model to 2D Model by using the '2D Slice Tool' available in the Designer workspace. If you are unsure about how to use this or where it can be found in Designer this article will help you:

    https://support.onscale.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018312092?flash_digest=534a6877be26c84fd9fac571e892aa8464918692

Unfortunately however there is a known problem that when you have finished the conversion process when you go to apply a load the application will close. To get around this after the conversion process close the application manually and reopen the file generated from the slice conversion process.

This issue has been addressed and the fix will be available in the next release package.

  • Hi Kevin,

I have seen this tools, but it appear in gray. I do not have access to these tools. Maybe because I use the free version?

  • Hi Didier,

This shouldn't be the case you should be able to use this with a free account, can I ask what version you are using? This information can be found by clicking About in the Help tab.

  • Hi kevin,

    Come back after holidays.

With the last version and with a new project with only the materials, I can acces to the 2D slice tool. But the sofware crashes during the generation!

Have you encountered this problem ?
