Extracting and Viewing Mode Shapes

Follow

OnScale has the ability to extract harmonic data out from the time-domain simulation to give engineers a deeper understanding of how their device behaves at particular frequencies. Harmonic data like this can be extracted either via analyst which is demonstrated in the following video.

Note: More information on the commands used can be found in OnScale's command reference which can be accessed through the application.

Mode shape data can also be extracted from a Designer model through the graphical user interface (GUI). To see how to do, have a look at this article.

Do you want to compare simulation results with experimental results?

Mode shape data can also be useful for a direct comparison with a laser vibrometer measurement, check out how to do this here

  • It would be great if this could be extended to show how to extract normalized magnitude and phase so that it can be compared directly with a laser vibrometer measurement
