Flow Model Execution
Model Description
A 2D model of a pipe with a parabolic flow profile in Y direction across the radius of the pipe. With the flow velocity set in positive X direction, the model can be used to evaluate the effect of flow on the receive signal and severity of beam deflection.
Basic Model Schematic
Important: This is not a CFD analysis. A flow field is loaded in the background and its influence on the acoustic wave is studied.
Parametric Variables
The model allows the following design variables to be adjusted to control design metrics such as maximum flow velocity:
Parametric Variable |
Description |
Default Value |
---|---|---|
pipeRad |
Radius of the Pipe |
20 mm |
vflow |
Maximum flow velocity in the X-direction |
50 m/s |
Outputs
Here are a list of the types of outputs to expect from this model:
- Time Histories (XY Graphs)
- Drive input signal
- Receive signal – average pressure across face of receive transducer
- Field data
- Maximum Pressure field
