Phase Array Ultrasonic Wedges Answered
Can anyone provide the material properties for Plexiglass (a common material used for Phase Array wedges). OnScale has material properties for Rexolite which is also commonly used but I would like to see how the Plexiglass compares.
Thanks in advance,
Marcias

Hi Marcias,
Yes rexolite (rxlt) is the material that is contained within the OnScale database that is generally used for wedge materials. Unfortunately I don't have any properties for Plexiglass but I am sure there will be values available online or within papers. The basic properties required for isotropic materials is the Density and the longitudinal and shear velocities. Alternatively, isotropic materials can be defined using their longitudinal and shear moduli. These values can be entered directly or calculated from Young's Modulus and Poisson's ratio of the material.
Please let us know if you need any help implementing any properties that you find.
Best Regards,
Jeff
