Too many cH deducted than estimated! Answered
Respected Sir/Madam,
I was conducting 30 simulations in parallel using parametric sweep and the estimate showed that in total 21cH will be used (0.7 cH per simulation) but ~ 61 cH were deducted from my account (see screenshot)
I had run another 20 simulations with parametric sweep after this but upon seeing that I was charged more cH than estimated in the abovementioned simulations I cancelled these simulations and was still charged about 4cH (see screenshot)
Please find the screenshots here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1zNoq1Vu2WEleAemBD-MdsOQUkjPhrcE1?usp=sharing
Please assist me in reimbursing me the extra cH that were deducted in error.
Thanks
Robin

Hi Robin,
We recently set our defualt target HPC to GCP you can manually change it back to AWS in the setting depending on the version there wil either be a dropdown or a cog icon like the image attached.
We have noticed a slowdown on both AWS and GCP but I would recommend running these sims on AWS, we are currenty looking into this I will reimburse the CH wasted here
I've reimbursed 45 CH. 40 CH for the over estimated sim and 5 CH for the job you cancelled
Hello Oliver,
Thank you for reimbursing the cH to my account. I really appreciate it.
If my understanding is correct, you are saying that for my simulations a particular cH were estimated but a different amount of cH was deducted because I used GCP instead of AWS. Am I right?
I will update my OnScale version and make the suggested changes. I have seen that within AWS there are 2 options: AWS (us-east-1) and AWS (ap-northeast-1). Which one should I use?
Thanks
Robin
No, we are investegating our HPCs. We have been made aware that both are under estimating simulation time and CH, AWS is just performing better than GCP.
Select AWS (ap-northeast-1).
